Unrwa staff in the Roda
Image by Helping Children InConflict Zones Through Capoeira
All the photos are from our project in five refugee camps in the West Bank & an East Jerusalem neighbourhood.
We are teaching free capoeira to 480 Palestinian children, who experienced directly armed-conflict violence such as arrest, house eviction or physical abuse.
Our team is bringing some immediate fun and inclusive activity to the camp. The capoeira allows the children to express anger and frustration in a safe and healthy way. Our experience shows that children develop their self-confidence, discipline, and respect for new cultures while playing and testing themselves.
